1 kilometer south of Santa Teresa, in the province of Nicoya, the community of Mal País is located. A small mixed community of locals and foreigners who are dedicated to fishing, handicrafts, livestock, trade and surfing.
Due to the tranquility and the contact with nature that is lived in that community, we decided to open our cabin-bus there. It is a house for rent for weekends or for those who are looking to stay a good season near the beach.
Fully equipped our idea is to give them a home away from home where they can spend unique moments with their partner, family or friends.
We made this article to review many of the advantages that our cabana-bus has over a hotel room. We want to inform you so that you can make the right decision when choosing which type of stay you want for your adventure in Nicoya.
Privacy
Our cabin-bus is surrounded by a fully fenced property where you will enjoy not being in sight of curious eyes. You can be in the corridor or on the outside bed without worrying about any interruption.
You are only with the people of your choice, or if you came for a walk on your own, with yourself.
This environment is perfect to feel in confidence and tranquility. If you are someone who works remotely or on your own, we have WIFI for your connection to the cloud. You will be able to work on the property without listening to other people’s conversations, doors opening and closing or the bustle of vehicles outside.
Our cabin is not on a tertiary road with little traffic, but if you walk a few tens of meters you are already on the main road. You are near and far from everything at the same time.
For couples it is a combination of enjoying moments alone and being part of the community at the same time. You can go out to the beach and share the sunset with others.
Affordability
While most hotels in the area offer breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are provided by the guest. As the hotel room does not include an equipped kitchen, the guest has no choice but to eat in restaurants.
The kitchen of our cabana-bus has everything you need to prepare food. You can buy local ingredients at a low price and prepare your favorite recipes.
Local supermarkets in Mal País have small packages of products such as sauces, grains, meats. This way you don’t have to buy large quantities if you only plan to stay a couple of nights.
If you don’t want to cook dinner, many of the restaurants in Santa Teresa, Mal País and Cóbano offer delivery service.
The property has space to park a vehicle. If you think that this is not a big deal, you will be surprised how many hotels do not have parking in the area. You will have to find parking for your vehicle or leave it on the street.
Don’t forget that we have a discount for long stays. Also if they occupy any extra service we can put you in touch with someone from the locality that provides this need.
Be part of an unique experience
Don’t isolate yourself in a hotel room. While we are looking for you to be as comfortable as possible in our casa-bus, we want you to be part of the people of Mal País.
Mal País shares the beach with Playa El Carmen and Santa Teresa if you are looking for waves to surf. Further south you will find the sea pools of which we have an article written. You will also find a port from where the boats of the fishing tours depart.
There is horse riding, quad bike rental, SUP among other activities. The Cabo Blanco National Park is on the way, passing by Suecos Beach, a unique beach.
But if you don’t feel like any of this and just want tranquility, Mal País is the point. This coastal town promises quiet walks in the afternoon, along the beach or the nearby hills.
It is also great for sightings of birds and other animals that like the stillness of the community.
The whole property at your disposal
Two porches, a front patio, a fully equipped kitchen, a reading room, a room with a bed for two, a jacuzzi, a mattress outside, parking. All this with the exclusive WIFI Internet.
But being in the most peaceful and friendly coastal community and at the same time being close to two of the most famous surfing destinations in Costa Rica.
